RSMC Annual Payment for Daily Vehicle Inspections

Since 2015 RSMCs, PREs and OCREs using a corporate vehicle have been receiving an annual payment to compensate for the time it takes to perform a daily vehicle safety inspection (circle check).

The payment applies to each day an RSMC, PRE or OCRE uses a corporate vehicle. The Corporation relies on the daily vehicle barcode scan to determine the number of days in a year that are calculated in the annual payment.

The annual payment for 2023 will appear on the March 28, 2024 pay.

The amount to be paid is $2.53 per occurrence of using a corporate vehicle.

For example: in 2023 there were 250 working days. Subtract 20 days for annual leave, that would be 230 days x $2.53 = $540.50.

If you believe there is an issue with the amount you receive, raise it with your Supervisor. If the issue is not resolved, filed a grievance immediately.
